Greetings! Happy 2023!
Wow, what a wild ride it’s been. As we’re continuing full-steam ahead through the 2020’s, there’s still a lot to be said about COVID and the end(?) of the pandemic. Honestly, it hasn’t ended, but now it’s become more-or-less the new normal as we continue to see new variants and spikes throughout the year, and especially during this past holiday season. I got COVID twice last year, and while it does suck, I’m glad that I’m vaccinated and have a strong body to take it and recover.
COVID-aside, 2022 was a good year. Compared to 2021, which had been sleepier, 2022 was filled with navigating the ups-and-downs of a new relationship and traveling more since the pandemic started. I’m still very happy with my girlfriend, and I plan to continue fostering this love with her. As for travel, following my first international trip (since 2019) to Argentina (which exceeded my expectations), I’m excited to plan more international trips for 2023– I hope to squeeze two trips in, but we’ll have to see!
Besides developing my relationship and traveling internationally, another goal is to make a job change. I wrote about wanting to do so in last year’s New Year’s post, but alas, it didn’t happen. I hope 2023 will be more-promising, as I’m still set on fighting to work from home and have a better work-life balance. A lot of it is out of my control (i.e. admin), but I’ll push and hope to get it soon! Another goal I had last year was to get back into running, as I’d been very inconsistent due to a busy schedule and overall lack of motivation– again, I didn’t do so well (i.e. I was doing well in the first half of the year, but stopped in the second half), so I aim to make it a routine. Same goes for finding time for my passions like arts and crafts and piano.
We’ll have to see what 2023 brings. Overall, I’m wishing for a happy and healthy year, with less stress and more pleasure. Here’s to a great new year– cheers! 🙂
