Hey, all!
I hope you’re enjoying the New Year so far. A lot has happened to me since the start of 2020, and even if the year is off to a busy start, I still try to find time to sit down and blog about things that matter to me (e.g. politics, social issues, creative writing…). Hasn’t proven easy so far, but I plan to aim for at least once post a week on this blog. So stay tuned for more!
For this post, I would like to dedicate it to my goals I hope to accomplish in 2020. I am avoiding putting down “resolutions,” just because the term implies a firm decision that appears unforgiving, should one fail to reach it by the end of the year. That’s why I’m choosing to say “goals” instead, as it suggests more of an aim, as well as a sense of planning involved to reach it. Basically, it’s the difference between saying “I want to lose weight” (resolution) and “I plan to eat healthier and exercise more” (goal).
That said, here is a list of my goals for 2020. Here we go!
My Goals for 2020
- Plan at least one domestic and one international trip (former’s already been booked!).
- Continue to do core and weight-lift every day, if possible. Strive to get in some steps if it’s not possible.
- Become more outgoing, take initiative to strike up conversations with people at work and in public. Improve the art of small talk.
- Be more forgiving of my faults and mistakes. Learn not to take things too personally or seriously.
- Try my hand at dating (online and in real life). Bring out my romantic/flirty side (I know it’s in there somewhere!), and be open to sharing my heart with someone else.
- Be more in the moment with friends and family. Be more present in their lives and help out in times of need.
- Obtain a full-time job by applying. Learn some skills if lacking any for requirements. Aim to obtain one by the end of the year.
- Learn to be comfortable with myself, even if I don’t know what the next decade will bring. Be more accepting of the twists and turns along the way, and expect the unexpected.
