As of yesterday, I’ve returned from my three week-plus travels around Europe. It’s been exhausting, to say the least, but I’m incredibly happy to have done so. From the stress to the beauty to the joy, I don’t regret spending so much time (and money) on my trip, and I have so many stories to tell you about them soon.
…so where did I go exactly this time? In my last post, I kept my destinations a secret, which I’ll now reveal here:
In mid-May, I began my travels by heading to Iceland for a week, staying six nights in the capital of Reykjavik, which I used as my base for guided day tours to other parts of the country. Unbelievably-amazing nature and atmosphere, and considering that Iceland had been on my bucket list for some time, I was over the moon to have *finally* gone and seen the beautiful place in person.
Following my time in Iceland, I headed back to Paris for a couple of nights, staying with an old Couchsurfer friend to recuperate before packing up once more to head to Croatia for almost two weeks. I revisited Dubrovnik after almost 12 years, as well as discovered Split and Zagreb. Also made day trips to the neighboring countries of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were brief, but worth it.
Finally, I wrapped up my trip by busing myself over to Venice from Zagreb, making a brief stop in Ljubljana (I can say that I’ve been to Slovenia now, even if for just a few hours!) before arriving in the enchanting Italian city. Likewise with Dubrovnik, it’d been over a decade since I last visited Venice, and I did my best to see as much as I could in the two short nights I was there before catching my flight back to Lyon, then back home.
Sounds like a lot that I did (which looking back, is surprisingly so), but that was just a taster of what I’ll be recapping in depth with each destination I visited. Look out for them in the days and weeks to come– until then, I’ll be resting up after being on the move for weeks! Have a good day. 🙂
