Yes, you read the title correctly! As I’d written in a previous post, I recently completed my first semester as an English university lecturer in France. As a result, I have over two-and-a-half months of break, which I’m absolutely ecstatic to have.
Granted, I’d been very busy last week working on grading final exams, finalizing course grades, and working on my Master’s thesis, but now, I can at least put them aside for a little bit and enjoy myself with some traveling. The thing was, I’d known back in September when I first started working that I would have this *extremely-long* break to look forward to. That said, I looked into destinations early on, as well as booking flights, accommodations, and transport in advance. So far, I’m set for a solid month of travel, which will be pretty much non-stop; I don’t have solid plans of what I’ll do in the second month of break, but I sure as hell don’t want to stay cooped up in my flat in France the whole time– we shall see!
Considering that, again, I’ll be virtually traveling non-stop until the end of this year, I’ll be taking time off from blogging to go out and enjoy my travels. I realize that this break will be my longest one yet, since I won’t be really posting on this blog for the rest of the year. Also not sure whether I’ll be posting again when New Year rolls around, especially if I end up choosing to go somewhere in January. But have no fear: I WILL BE BACK!
Perhaps expect some small posts between now and my return to blogging– nothing too big, just a “pop-in” over Christmas and New Year’s to wish you a happy holidays and whatnot. I’m incredibly excited to embark on this epic season of travel, and I can’t wait to share them all once I return!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, and bon voyage (to me, at least)!
