Yellow (Rainbow Series poem)

Hello, bloggers! Recently, I was inspired to create a haiku poetry series titled “Rainbow Series” which will focus on each color of the rainbow. This week’s features the color yellow. Enjoy!

Sweeping fields of gold
sun-burnt from decades of toil
hands rough and calloused

Give straw to machine
to grain for mid-year harvest
such like flaxen hair

You brushed tenderly
away from the face, her curls
tease a summer song.
