Happy Sunday, bloggers!
This week’s “Sunday Slow Jams” is one that I recently stumbled upon and instantly fell in love with. It’s a piano acoustic cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” beautifully interpreted by Jon Schmidt from The Piano Guys. Truly, it’s the ultimate soothing track to put a smile on your face in pure, giddy happiness.
I discovered The Piano Guys’ work several years ago, after falling in love with their dynamic virtuosity in music. Blending the classics like Beethoven and Rachmaninoff with modern artists such as Coldplay and One Direction, these musicians have what it takes to create feel-good mashups for easy listening.
Funny enough, I listened to The Piano Guys’ cover of “Perfect” before the original version by Ed Sheeran. Vocals or not, the melody is so simple, but effectively so. I think that’s what makes it so beautiful, and Jon Schmidt plays it so effortlessly. You can see the passion flowing through his fingers, the joy whenever he smiles just radiating out. Really, the song title encapsulates the song itself: indeed, it is perfect. I can imagine it being played at a wedding, and the thought of that just about gives me the feels! ❤
Feel free to give it a listen. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your weekend!
