My Fault – Imagine Dragons (SSJ #31)

Happy Sunday, bloggers!

For this week’s “Sunday Slow Jams,” I thought that I would take you back a bit to this song from Imagine Dragons just a few years ago. Granted, I know that the band was “so 2013” with its wildly-popular hits like “Radioactive” and “It’s Time,” but this song I’m sharing with you today, “My Fault,” is one of its lesser-known tracks, but still it stays true to the band’s rock genre without getting too overly sentimental with its slower pace and tune.

With its quiet, thumping beat and gentle electric guitar strums, “My Fault” gives off the impression of a person’s heartbeat, as they “take a walk on a Saturday night/ [with] fog in the air” and contemplating deep and profound ideas on regret and relationships. There’s definitely a mysterious atmosphere to the song and the lyrics, being simple, still nevertheless delivers that powerful, emotional punch with the rousing chorus and “oh-oh-ohs” in the background.

Overall, “My Fault” is a good track for listening to during quiet evenings, and I encourage you to give it a listen. Otherwise, enjoy your Sunday!
